EU’s new asylum office to Malta
The European Union will establish its new Asylum Support Office (EASO) in Malta next year.
The aim of EASO is to facilitate, coordinate and strengthen practical cooperation among member sates in the field of asylum and improve the implementation of the EU’s Common European Asylum System.
Furthermore, the Office is to provide practical assistance and expertise to countries which are facing particular challenges, as well as to provide scientific and technical assistance for the development of asylum policy and legislation.
